IHC directs Awan to submit written response in contempt of court proceeding – Pakistan

"This court will not favor anyone. Measures will be taken in accordance with the law," said the judge.

He told Awan that in 2014, current President Arif Alvi had filed a petition at the IHC on a holiday against the arrest of Pakistani workers Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

The court asked him if he had submitted a written response, to which his lawyer responded negatively. Judge Minallah ordered SAPM to submit a written response within a week and postponed the hearing until Monday.

Awan's lawyer asked the court to exempt her from appearing in court in person, but the judge rejected the request saying: "Your appearance here has more advantages."
