Medical board to decide Zardari’s further hospital stay Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The medical board of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) will examine former President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday (today) to decide if he needs an additional hospitalization or if he can be discharged.

"Although most of the Zardari test results are normal, the medical decision will be made by the medical council," said PIMS executive director Dr. Ansar Maxood. Dawn.

Mr. Zardari had been complaining of lower back pain, weakness and anxiety because he was transferred to PIMS from the Adiala prison in Rawalpindi on October 22, where a series of tests were carried out after of which the hospital declared that it was out of danger.

In addition, neurologist Dr. Amir, medical specialist Dr. Shajee and cardiologist Dr. Naeem examined Mr. Zardari.

Dr. Maxood said that although Mr. Zardari's platelet count showed 120,000, it is low, but "it was not unusual since the patient is taking a series of medications."

Platelets are the cells that circulate inside the blood and bind when they see damaged blood vessels. A normal platelet count ranges from 150,000 to 450,000 per microliter of blood.

"The urology department has performed an ultrasound [of Mr Zardari] and his report is expected for Monday, "added Dr. Maxood.

The PPP secretary of information, Dr. Nafisa Shah, alleged in a statement that Mr. Zardari's condition was critical and that he was denied medical treatment.

Former Senate President Nayyar Hussain Bukhari urged the government to provide medical facilities to Mr. Zardari.

“Dilatory tactics were used when moving Mr. Zardari from jail to the hospital. Both NAB and the government will be responsible if something happens to the former president of Pakistan, ”he said.
