Tamim Iqbal refused an upcoming trip to Bangladesh because his wife was expecting her second child later this month, and national selectors called Imrul Kayes a substitute for the three T20Is. However, it is not clear whether Imrul will continue to participate in the touring party in subsequent test series.
Tamim, who is caring for rib injuries, was nominated by the T20I side, but told BCB that on November 22, she had to cross the second test to stay with her wife in Kolkata. He decided to stay with his wife for several weeks until the date of delivery.
"Tamim told us in advance that he would miss the second test in Kolkata, but he would be with his wife for the next few weeks," Minhajul Abedin's chief selector. "Imrul has already started training on behalf of Tamim."
After Bangladesh visited Sri Lanka in July last month and asked for a break in all the crickets, Tamim missed Zimbabwe's third time last month, missing a Bangladesh home test against Afghanistan and the T20I 3 series. He returned to first class this month in the Cheetah Division of the National Cricket League and was injured before the second game.
Tamham became the second player missed on an Indian tour after Mohammad Saifuddin was ruled out with a back injury. There is no alternate name for allrounder yet.
