Want news about the fight? You got it.

On Thursday, UFC CEO Dana White made the biggest announcement of the year as main event bookings continued leading up to Freedom Fights 250 at the White House in Washington, D.C. The biggest and most anticipated fight announced is Khamzat Chimaev vs. Sean Strickland, a grudge match and middleweight title fight at UFC 328 in Newark, New Jersey.

In addition to the 185-pound clash, White has officially announced three other UFC main events. First, White confirmed that fast-rising featherweight prospect Melquizael Costa will take on veteran contender Arnold Allen inside Meta Apex on May 16th. It’s a deserved step up for Costa, who has won six straight in impressive fashion, but it’s also good to see Allen getting booked again quickly after losing to Jean Silva.

On May 30, the UFC will feature a fight between bantamweight knockout artist Song Yadong and former flyweight kingpin Davesson Figueiredo in Macau, China. Yadong narrowly defeated Sean O’Malley in his most recent outing at UFC 324, while Figueiredo earned a clean sweep of Umar Nurmagomedov in his most recent outing.

Considering Figueiredo is 38 years old and has lost three of his four, this is a must-win match for the Brazilian great.

The final main event announced is Belal Muhammad vs. Gabriel Bonfim on June 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Former welterweight champion Muhammad has lost his last two fights to Jack Della Maddalena and Ian Gary. While this loss ended a long undefeated streak, Bonfim is on the rise. The Brazilian has won four straight, including a highlight knockout of Randy Brown in his first-ever main event booking last November.

Just in case anyone skimmed through that list and missed a key detail… Jeremy Stevens is back?!? And he’s fighting the Green King? In my mind, it’s still 2017 and the UFC matchmakers have to agree. All of this is a lot to consider, so let us know what you think about all of these matchups in the comments section below!
