The United States and Venezuela have agreed to resume diplomatic ties, two months after Trump launched a military operation to arrest Venezuela’s president and control its oil industry. The U.S. State Department said Thursday that the agreement with Venezuela’s interim authorities was “an effort to promote stability and support the economy.”
