Govt’s National Job Portal Reportedly Down Despite Upgrade

Pakistan’s National Government Job Portal (NJP) is reportedly facing serious access issues, with users complaining that the website repeatedly crashes when trying to create accounts, despite the government’s recent push to modernize the platform.

The issue has sparked frustration among job seekers trying to register on the portal, with screenshots being circulated online showing an error message saying “Web page has been blocked!” When the NJP registration page opens,

Users say that at a time when several government vacancies are being processed through the portal, the issue effectively blocks them from the system.

The reported downtime comes as the government recently upgraded NJP, converting it to an AI-based recruitment platform, as part of a wider effort to streamline recruitment and improve employment services.

Even some departments are starting to publicly acknowledge this confusion. The National Forensic Science Agency (NFA) has issued a formal notice advising applicants to use alternative procedures if the NJP is not accessible.

According to the notice, candidates can download the application form from the NFA website and submit the hard copy along with required documents including pay order and police character certificate on or before March 7, 2026, if the portal is inaccessible due to ongoing technical issues.

These situations raised questions about the reliability of the portal after the upgrade. This is especially true as online-only recruitment systems increasingly become the main gateway to applying for government jobs.
