VIDEO: U.S. Army veteran breaks arm after being dragged out of Senate chamber for protesting war

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran was removed from the Capitol by police and Republican Senator Tim Sheehy after he attempted to disrupt an ongoing hearing. The man, identified as Brian McGinnis, recently expressed frustration with tensions in the Middle East and said the United States should not be fighting a war led by Israel. The veteran suffered a broken hand during a scuffle between him, police and the Republican senator.

“Israel is the reason for this war. America does not want to fight this war for Israel. America does not send its sons and daughters to war for Israel,” a Marine officer was heard saying during the hearing. He expressed his anger and added, “No one in America wants to be in a war for Israel.”

But the veteran was left speechless as police intervened and began forcibly dragging him from the scene. Montana’s Republican senator, Tim Sheehy, also joined them. However, McGuinness, who once ran unsuccessfully as a Green Party candidate in the North Carolina Senate race, did not stop and continued to criticize the U.S. administration for interfering in the current Middle East conflict.

Officers attempted to drag McGinins out of the room, taking him near the doorway and lifting him up. The veteran’s left hand hit between the door and frame. Sheehy, who was assisting police during the incident, tried to pull his arm away when someone accused him of breaking it.

Someone later asked Sheehy if his left hand was okay, according to a report by CBS News. The veteran injured his hand and expressed that it was not okay.

Finally, the police succeeded in getting McGinnis out of the room. He kept screaming that his hand was broken.
