After the Trump administration ordered all agencies to stop using Anthropic’s artificial intelligence tools, the Department of Defense signed a contract with OpenAI to use AI models on the military’s classified networks. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said late Friday that the Department of Defense (DOD) had agreed to ban the company’s AI from being used for domestic mass surveillance.
