Spotifys new audiobook charts make it easy to spot trends

Spotify is launching Audiobook Charts in the US and UK, giving listeners a new way to discover trends. Updated weekly, the chart highlights the most popular audiobooks overall and by genre, based on listening activity and engagement on the platform.

The new rankings are available to both free and Spotify Premium users via the Audiobook Hub. To access this, users simply press the Search button, select the “Audiobooks” tile, and then scroll down to the “Learn More” section. Spotify says the chart aims to make it easier for users to find popular titles, while giving authors and publishers a new channel to reach their audiences.

Duncan Bruce, Director of Audiobook Partnerships and Licensing at Spotify, said of the new feature: “As we’ve proven with our music and podcasts charts, when content becomes easier to access, discover and enjoy, demand grows. We’re excited to bring this to audiobooks now, giving users, publishers and authors even more ways to discover trends on Spotify and make books more connected to culture in real time.”

Spotify first launched audiobooks on its platform in 2022, with the goal of turning the app into a central hub for all types of audio content, along with music and podcasts. Since then, we’ve added several features to improve your audiobook listening experience.

Most recently, we launched a useful feature called Page Match that allows users to scan a page in a physical book and instantly jump to that point in the audiobook. Late last year, the platform launched a handy Recap tool that makes it easier to focus on longer titles by providing short summaries to help listeners catch up on previous chapters.
