Reincarnated as a Slime is coming to Crunchyroll this April
The best-selling isekai series of all time, That time I was reincarnated into Slimeis ready to take over the spring anime season. The adventures of Rimuru and the other inhabitants of the Tempest Kingdom continue with a fourth season, which will premiere on April 3 on Crunchyroll.
Curiously, the streaming giant did not use a new trailer to share the news, but simply re-uploaded the same one from two years ago that revealed that the fourth season and second movie of the franchise were in production. Still, that didn’t dampen fans’ enthusiasm much. In December 2025, it was already revealed that the anime would return in April and that it would be divided into four courses. Crunchyroll also announced that the film That Time I Got Reincarnated into Slime the Movie: Tears of the Blue Sea will begin streaming internationally on April 26 and arrive in North America on May 1.
Reincarnated as slimealso known as Tensionhas captured the hearts of millions of fans around the world thanks to its unconventional approach to the isekai genre. While some common elements are still present, such as an overpowered protagonist and gamification of the world, this series focuses on politics and world-building, maintaining a lighter tone and mainly avoiding fan service and other controversial elements. (But you will still see the occasional beach episode or a visit to the onsen.) The protagonist is Rimuru Tempest, a former office worker from Japan who, after being stabbed on the street, awakens in a fantasy world as a slime, quickly going from the weakest monster to the ruler of a powerful kingdom where all races can live in harmony.
Rimuru’s power doesn’t mean he doesn’t have enemies. His vision for the prosperity of the Tempest Kingdom and the surrounding nations will collide with the hidden powers of the world in this new season. Between four courses and a new movie, 2026 will truly be the Year of the Slime.
