Salima Tete made her senior debut playing for the India women’s national team in 2016. In 2017, she became a part of the Indian team at the 7th Sub-Junior National Hockey Championships held in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu. Salima represented the Jharkhand hockey team and won the title. In 2018, Salima was appointed captain of the Indian hockey team to lead the Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Team India won the silver medal in the final of the tournament. In 2021, he represented India at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. In 2022, Salima Tete was part of the Indian squad participating in the Women’s FIH Hockey Nations Cup held in Valencia, Spain. The Indian team won the tournament by beating Spain 1-0 in the final.

In the same year, she represented India at the 22nd Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, England. Team India won the bronze medal in the final of the tournament.

  • After seeing Salima’s performance in a local tournament, Manoj Konbegi took on the responsibility of persuading Salima’s family to allow her to enter Simdega’s professional hockey academy.
  • At the age of 12, she entered Simdega’s Hockey Academy and began receiving professional hockey training.
