Bill and Melinda Gates have a lot on their plates right now, with a global pandemic like the one they've been brewing (and warning the world for) years that it's going crazy, but that hasn't stopped them from having some new digs near the Water. The Wall Street Journal He reports that the couple purchased a beachfront home in Del Mar, California, near San Diego, for $ 43 million, which turns out to be "one of the largest deals on record in the area."
That's despite the Gates getting a small deal on the house, as it was previously listed with a starting price of $ 48 million, getting a $ 5 million discount from the previous owners of the house: Madeleine Pickens, ex-wife of the late oil magnate. T. Boone Pickens.

The house spans over 5,800 square feet, and one of its most impressive amenities is the Jacuzzi with enough room for ten people at a time. Unfortunately, the visuals in the house seem to be a bit lacking, but apparently it also has a fire pit near the hot tub, an outdoor oceanfront deck, and a pool.
Bill and Melinda Gates have called their expansive complex in Medina, Washington their home, but their recent purchase of Del Mar is just the latest addition to their impressive real estate portfolio. It's not their first purchase of its kind in California, either, since in 2014 they allegedly bought a large equestrian ranch property in Rancho Santa Fe from diet guru Jenny Craig for $ 18 million.
