I finally went to see Lighthouse Another week or later when my wife jokes Willem Dafoe's acting status check. It's a very fun movie that puts Dafoe and Robert Pattinson together and lets the two get increasingly rough results.
It was fun just watching, so I felt like I didn't know what the movie wanted to say. The film is full of references to symbols and myths, but the story does not provide a lens for us to understand it. It looks like a lot of ideas thrown into the wall, but it gives us some cool things to think without real meaning behind it.
Last movie I saw Lighthouse Was Portrait of woman on fire, And the movie somehow helped me understand it best. The two films were stranded together on an island that slowly grew more open to each other as the story progressed. on LadyIt's two women and the characters slowly reveal themselves to each other and form a difficult and beautiful relationship in the process. on Lighthouse, It is two men, and they can endure and beat each other by oblivion. Perhaps that is the point.
