Ambassador ISLAMABAD-Jordan Ibrahim Yala Mohammad Almadani said that Pakistan enjoys good political and defense relations with Pakistan, but the two countries should achieve mutually beneficial results with a focus on strengthening economic ties.
He mentioned this while referring to the business community while visiting the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce (ICCI). He said more interaction is needed between the leadership of the two countries to further improve trade and economic relations.
The envoy said that while Pakistan imports some products from Pakistan, including textile products, medical devices, pharmaceutical products, rice, sugar and spices from Pakistan, Pakistan can export more products to Jordan. The next meeting of the Jordan-Pakistan Joint Ministerial Committee (JMC) will be held in Islamabad in the first quarter of 2020, and the Jordan business delegation will also accompany the minister for the B2B meeting with Pakistan. He hoped that the JMC and B2B interactions between the business communities of the two countries would help to find new ways to improve bilateral trade between Jordan and Pakistan. He was confident that ICCI would send a delegation to Jordan or invite the Jordan Chamber of Commerce to Pakistan to further improve business links between the two counties, and his embassy would fully support such efforts.
Muhammad Ahmed Waheed, chairman of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce, said the current level of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Jordan was far below the real potential of the two countries and that both sides needed strong efforts to improve it. He says Pakistan and Jordan have the potential to complement each other in different fields, including science and technology, fertilizers, IT and telecommunications, industry, banking and finance, health and pharmaceuticals, agriculture, livestock, fishing, education and culture. said. Facilitate frequent exchanges of trade delegations to explore all areas of undeveloped bilateral cooperation.
Muhammad Ahmed Wahid stressed that the Pakistani economy offered great opportunities for foreign investors and that Jordanian investors should visit Pakistan and invest in JVs and areas of interest.
He said Pakistan and Jordan can also cooperate in the energy sector to be exploited. He said the ICCI is ready to host a delegation from the Jordan Chamber of Commerce to link with a political party in Pakistan.
