QUETTA: The Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, Yao Jing, said Friday that his government was going to establish 19 factories in Gwadar to create job opportunities for Balochistan's youth.

“China seeks to contribute to the overall development of the mining, agriculture, fishing and water sectors of Balochistan. The Chinese consulate is facilitating the visa procedure for the business community, ”said Yao Jing while speaking with journalists here.

He said 200 students from Pakistan had received a scholarship in China.

He denied speculation about the lack of interest of the Chinese government in development projects in Balochistan.

"The CPEC would change the economic fortune not only of Balochistan, but also of Afghanistan and other Central Asian countries and all projects would go through Pakistan," he said.

The Chinese envoy said that the provincial fisheries, agriculture, minerals and livestock sectors had room for development, which could end poverty in Balochistan.

"Chinese companies are working to strengthen the provincial irrigation sector while 50 vocational centers are established to improve the skills of the young generation in the province," he said.

“China will invest in the expansion of Zhob-D.I. The Khan highway is considered vital for the CPEC, ”he added.
