Former Brazilian president Ruiz Inassio Lula da Silva has been released from prison for more than 18 months.

Former left leader, known as Lula, was cheered by many supporters when he left prison on Friday.

He was imprisoned in Curitibashi prison for corruption.

The judge ruled that after the Supreme Court ruling, it should be detained only if the defendant exhausted the appeal option.

The 74-year-old former president who led Brazil between 2003 and 2010 is considered a symbol of the left in this country. When he left prison, he pumped his fist into the air as a sign of victory.

"Today, I didn't think I could talk to a good morning, good afternoon or goodnight screaming man and woman for 580 days, whether it's raining or 40 degrees. [Celsius]He told the crowd.

Lula next to his girlfriend Rosangela da Silva told the crowd that he would establish his innocence.

He also promised to prove his innocence before playing on "The Rotten Side of the Justice System."

Lula liked to win last year's presidential election but was imprisoned for being involved in a major corruption case. Instead, the rightmost candidate, Jair Bolsonaro, won.

While criticizing President Bolanaro's economic policy, Lula vowed to continue fighting the poor Brazilians.

"People are hungry so there are no jobs and people work for Uber or deliver pizza by bike," he added. He particularly criticized the insecure work and the performing economy.

After Lula's release, President Bolsona said the former president was "momentarily free but guilty".

He asked Twitter's supporters to "don't give ammunition to Scoutel".

Lula will be banned in the office because of criminal records.

He consistently denied all charges against him and claimed that he had political motivation.

"Our judicial war continues, and our focus is to invalidate the legal case," his lawyer Cristiano Zanin said.

Emotional Politicians

To Lula's supporters, this feels like a testimony. He is an emotional politician, and those who support him think this was a political witch hunt from the start.

There is no guarantee that Lula will remain free forever. He may not win the remaining appeals. In other cases, they were also accused of corruption, which must face justice.

But Lula will now free up Brazil's left and strengthen her right. President Vol Sonar does not hide his disdain for Lula and millions of people agree.

Why was Lula released?

The Justice Department decided to reinterpret the criminal law of the state in a decision made Thursday.

The law reversed the three-year-old rule and required immediate prison time for convicted criminals after losing their first appeal.

Brazil's corruption incident, known as operational car wash, initially centered around the state-owned oil company Petrobras, but as a result, billions of dollars in bribes were found, and dozens of famous business leaders and politicians were imprisoned.

The imprisonment rules were thought to help prosecutors defend guilt and solve scandals by negotiating convictions and encouraging suspects to negotiate protests.

Critics, however, allege that they have violated the Constitution of Brazil, which states that without proper procedures, freedom cannot be deprived.

Lula was imprisoned in 2018 for more than 12 years in prison and reduced to 8 years and 10 months for receiving a beachfront apartment from an engineering company involved in a car wash.

Earlier this year, he was sentenced to 12 more years after being found guilty of receiving bribes in the form of renovations in the country house of a construction company.
