
NEW YORK: Promising to promote Pakistan's interests in the United Nations, Munir Akram, Pakistan's appointed ambassador to the United Nations, has said his mission is to help advance the legitimate struggle of the people of Kashmir in the hands of India for & # 39; Azadi & # 39; and self determination.
"I am very honored that I have been asked to represent Pakistan at the United Nations once again and I am very grateful to the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister and the Government of Pakistan for the trust they have placed in me." Ambassador Akram said in his first statement after taking office on Saturday.
