
KARACHI: The steel cutting ceremony of two warships of the A / P Type 054 Frigate Project being built for the Pakistan Navy was held at the Hudong Zhonghua (HZ) shipyard, China, on Friday.
According to a press release, the Chief Naval Supervisor (CNO) of China, Commodore Azfar Humayun of the Pakistan Navy and the president of the China Shipbuilding Trading Company (CSTC) jointly made the steel cutting of the two frigates.
Type 054 A / P ships are the most modern frigates equipped with modern sensors and surface, subsurface and anti-aircraft weapons. Once built, these ships will be the most technologically advanced platforms of the Pakistan Navy that will strengthen their ability to face future challenges and maintain peace, stability and balance of power in the Indian Ocean region.
Speaking on the occasion, the main guest stressed that this program was another manifestation of the growing friendship between China and China. He also recognized the commitment and dedication of the CSTC team.
The ceremony was also attended by officers of the Pakistan Navy and representatives / officials of the CSTC shipyard and Hudong Zhonghua.
