Pakistan on Thursday rejected the "null" and "illegal" fork of Kashmir occupied by India in two territories of the union, saying that "no step of the Indian government" can change the internationally recognized fact that it is a territory in dispute.
On August 5, the Indian government had repealed article 370 of its constitution, depriving occupied Kashmir of its special status. The orders entered into force today, dividing Jammu and Kashmir occupied into two union territories; one Jammu and Kashmir, and the other the high altitude region dominated by the Ladakh Buddhists.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan described the measure as "a complete violation of the UN Security Council Resolutions and bilateral agreements between India and Pakistan, especially the Simla Agreement."
The statement emphasizes that Jammu and Kashmir, occupied by India, is an internationally recognized disputed territory. "No step by the government of India can change this. These changes are illegal and void according to the relevant UNSC Resolutions, and do not prejudice the right to self-determination of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir people."
Pakistan particularly noted that the August 5 measures announced by India "were forced to" the people of Jammu and Kashmir occupied by India "through the barrel of a gun." The FO statement said the region has become a prison with the deployment of more than 900,000 Indian security forces.
The statement further noted that many people, including political leaders, members of civil society, women and children "remain under illegal detention."
"There is still an iron curtain in more than 8 million people in Kashmir breaking their communications with the outside world," the statement said.
"The curfew is still imposed and the movement of people is restricted. Many people, especially women and children, are continually being abused and tortured by Indian occupation forces," he added.
Pakistan rejected the narrative that the changes are "internal affairs" of India and described them as "illegal and unilateral", as the dispute "remains on the agenda of the Security Council."
The FO, in its statement said that the purpose of these changes "is not the development of the region or the welfare of the people of Kashmir."
"The real reason is to alter the demographic structure of the Muslim majority state in the search for extremist ideology & # 39; Hindutva & # 39;".
Pakistan asked the international community to "take note that the transfer of civilian population from abroad to Jammu and Kashmir, occupied by India, constitutes a serious violation of international laws, in particular the Fourth Geneva Convention."
The statement emphasized the fact that this energetic occupation by India will never be accepted by the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The unilateral actions of India "would only further aggravate the human rights situation in the region and threaten to destabilize the peace, security and stability of the South Asian region and the world."
Pakistan asked India to "stop brutalizing the innocent cashmere under their illegal occupation for the past seven decades."
"India should immediately withdraw its military forces from the region, eliminate draconian laws, restore the basic human rights of people, release all detainees, lift all restrictions on free movement and communications, allow full access and without hindrance to the UN and other international human rights observers, including independent foreign media, "he urged the Office of Foreign Affairs.
"It is imperative that India implement the UN Security Council Resolutions on the right of cashmere to self-determination, without greater prevarication."
The statement also affirmed that Pakistan's determination to continue "extending its full moral, political and diplomatic support to the suffering Kashmir brothers and sisters" until their right to self-determination is fulfilled in accordance with Security Council resolutions of the ONU.
