Nawaz’s condition is slightly better: doctor – Pakistan

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's condition is slightly better and his platelet levels are stable, said senior professor at the Institute of Medical Sciences Services (SIMS), Dr. Mahmood Ayaz.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Ayaz said the former prime minister will remain in the hospital until his treatment is complete, adding that Nawaz has not yet expressed his desire to be transferred to another location.

Nawaz's mother and sister also arrived at the Services Hospital to visit him.

On Saturday, the High Court of Islamabad (IHC) granted Nawaz bail for medical reasons in the Al Azizia reference until Tuesday, October 29. A day earlier, he had also obtained bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.

Yesterday, Dr. Ayaz said Nawaz had suffered angina pain, refuting reports that the supreme PML-N had suffered a heart attack.

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid held a press conference on Saturday afternoon during which she revealed that Sharif had also experienced angina pain on the night of October 24.

"The cardiologists were available at that time and performed some tests. According to an enzyme test, I had experienced a minor heart attack that night," he said.

The former prime minister was rushed to SIMS last week after his personal doctor warned of his deteriorated health.

On Tuesday, hospital doctors described Sharif's condition as "serious" despite the transfusion of three mega platelet units within a few hours of admission.

According to medical tests on Tuesday, the former prime minister's platelet count "had dropped from 16,000 to a critical level of 2,000" when he was taken to the hospital on Monday night, which led to board members doctor to look for "immediately." platelet transfusion to save his life, "said one of the board members.

After a three-day fight, a six-member medical board, headed by Dr. Ayaz, on Thursday diagnosed the reason for the deterioration of Sharif's health.

"It is acute immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), a bleeding disorder in which the immune system destroys platelets," said a board member Dawn. He said the treatment was given to the former prime minister in light of his diagnosis. "We hope your condition improves in a few days," he added.
