
The Pakistan Army media wing said Friday that the Indian army chief Bipin Rawat with "irresponsible statements" and "blood of innocents in his hand" seeks to become the Chief of Defense Staff of India.
The Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) is a proposed position for the combined chief of the Indian army, the Indian air force and the Indian navy. The creation of the post was announced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his independence day speech in August.
The director general of Public Relations between Services (ISPR), the General of Asif Ghafoor Division, said that General Rawat has been "repeatedly provoking war" through his statements, which threaten peace in the region, with the aim of facilitate the "electoral campaign of political teachers".
"From the false surgical attack (February 26) to date, their only success has been to turn the Indian army into a dishonest force and have them killed," said Major General Ghafoor.
He said the statements of Gen Rawat, along with "blood of innocents (in their hands), losses to Indian forces at the hands of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, helicopter accidents due to the so-called technical failure-fratricide", all to become in the Indian CDS "it is actually at the expense of professional military ethos".
The comments of the head of ISPR occur only four days after his challenge to the Indian army to share locations of the alleged terror camps that the latter claimed to have targeted in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
"The Indians have no reason to support [the] false claim made by your COAS.
"We will take foreign diplomats and media to those places tomorrow. Let everyone see the facts on the ground," he said.
