Check out Life Time’s new ‘athletic resort’ in Greenway Plaza

Life Time will open the Greenway Plaza location on October 28.

Life Time Greenway is the 10th location of a health club in the Houston area. The Minnesota-based fitness chain has transformed its former Houston City Club into a $ 34 million "athletic resort" over 150,000 square feet.

The new gym has a rooftop pool deck with bistro and bar, studio area, physiotherapy area, 2 large basketball courts, indoor pool, daycare center, co-working area, dining room and spa.

Life Time acquired the Greenway Plaza space in 2017 and began renovating the site last year. The club opened to its members early Friday morning and is open to all members on Monday.

Life Time Greenway has more than 200 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees. The chain is located in Baybrook, Champions, Cinco Ranch, City Centre, Cypress, Galleria, Kingwood, Lake Houston and Sugar Land.

Earlier this year, Life Time opened its first Life Time Work collaboration space in City Center and plans to expand to Greenstreet and Shenandoah in the next two years.

Life Time has about 150 fitness centers in 39 markets across North America.
