LAHORE: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was taken to the Services Hospital late Monday night after his condition worsened, which was confirmed by his new government test.
The National Office of Responsibility, Lahore, made the decision to transfer him to the hospital for a medical check-up in light of his new reports. "For the Nawaz Sharif medical check-up, NAB is transferring him to the Hospital of Services," an office spokesman said, adding that doctors would decide on his admission (to the hospital).
Dr. Adnan Khan, personal doctor of Mr. Sharif, early in the evening. gave the alarm about his deteriorated health, urging the Tehreek-i-Insaf government of Pakistan to transfer him immediately to the hospital for treatment.
“It was detected that the former PM #NawazSharif had a critically low platelet count (16 * 10 ^ 9 / L) that could be due to multiple pathologies and requires immediate hospital attention. I have asked interested authorities to act urgently, "tweeted Dr. Adnan Khan after seeing the PML-N supreme chief in the NAB Thokar Niaz Baig office.
“Today we met with former Prime Minister #NawazSharif for consultation and evaluation. He is visibly wrong and has multiple serious health problems that threaten life of an acute nature. I have recommended immediate hospitalization for work and treatment. The matter is of utmost urgency, ”said Dr. Khan.
A good number of workers gathered outside the NAB office on Monday night and demanded that the authorities involved transfer their leader to the hospital. They also chanted slogans in favor of Mr. Sharif and placed tires on fire on a road. Some PML-N workers issued a video message to supporters to contact the NAB office to express solidarity with their leader. The office had to call the police to control the situation.
Following the warning of Dr. Adnan, the president of PML-N, Shahbaz Sharif, also issued a statement, demanding that the Punjab government transfer his brother to the hospital without further delay. “The medical reports of Nawaz Sharif by the government show that his condition is very serious. It is an insensitive attitude of the PTI government that, despite its worsening health status, does not transfer it to the hospital, ”Shahbaz said, warning the prime minister of the consequences if something happened to the supreme leader of the main party of the opposition. "Imran Khan Niazi will be responsible if something happens to Nawaz Sharif," he said.
The president of PML-N said that not following the prison manual was a "political revenge of Niazi" and that such action could lead the country towards anarchy.
Party spokesman Marriyum Aurangzeb said new medical reports showed that the condition of the party leader was "very serious" and required immediate hospitalization. "By depriving Nawaz Sharif of medical treatment, Imran Khan cannot hide his incompetence and lies," he said.
The former prime minister was transferred from the Kot Lakhpat prison (where he is serving seven years in prison in the Al-Azizia case) to the NAB Lahore building after his arrest in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. The office has obtained his physical detention until October 25.
Just a couple of months ago, the two government hospitals had denied a specialized cardiac ambulance facility for emergency medical coverage to the former PM in jail.
The Punjab prison department had asked health superiors to provide a fully equipped ambulance to park in jail to transfer to any hospital in case of emergency, but was denied. The request was submitted to find that the ambulance made available in the prison was not well equipped.
A specialized cardiac ambulance is equipped with a defibrillator, heart monitor, ventilator and ECG machine. A defibrillator helps save lives by administering a high-energy electric shock to a patient's heart in case of cardiac arrest.
