The Senate Interprovincial Coordination Committee (IPC) of the Senate convened on Wednesday the president of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ehsan Mani, on the dismal performance of the national cricket team against Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka's tour of Pakistan ended earlier this month with guests completing a clean 3-0 sweep in the Twenty20 series in Lahore. Pakistan had claimed the ODI series in Karachi with 2-0.
Committee members expressed concern about the lackluster performance of green shirts in matches.
"If we had [committee members] been in the place of the cricket team, Pakistan would have won, "said committee chairman Sen. Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasar.
PML-N Senator Mushahidullah Khan criticized the president of the PCB for not attending meetings and asked the chairman of the committee to make it mandatory for the head of the cricket corps to attend all meetings of the Senate committee.
He claimed that Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad were included in the team "as a favor," adding that Misbahul Haq was pressured to make the decision.

PTI senator Faisal Javed said he could not digest the defeat of green shirts at home. The senator called the performance "shameful." He also raised questions about the appointment of the same person as head of selection and coach.
Last month, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), at first, had appointed former captain Misbahul Haq for the joint position of head coach and team manager for the men's team.
Javed said he wanted to know the reasons behind the defeat of the team, asking why all the members of the "number one Twenty20" team were changed.
The senator said former head coach Mickey Arthur had made several accusations against Umar Akmal, asking why the athlete was included in the team shortly after Arthur's departure.
He added that all these issues should be addressed before the next "important tour" of Australia.
