Seminary teacher arrested in Kabirwala for alleged rape of teenage boy – Pakistan

Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of a seminary teacher in Kabirwala tehsil of Khanewal district who allegedly raped a teenager enrolled there.

The incident took place at the seminar on the night of October 3.

A case was registered on Tuesday at the Haweli Koranga police station "after medical results showed that the 13-year-old student had been sexually assaulted in the private institution," police said.

According to the first information report (FIR), the student is a resident of Darkhana and had been housed in the seminary where he had been taking lessons from Quran.

On the night of the incident, the boy was asleep in the shelter when the teacher "sneaked in and raped him," says the FIR. When the boy's screams were heard, two men, named in the police report as witnesses, entered the room and tried to catch the suspect, but managed to escape.

The parents were soon reached and then rushed to the police station to file a complaint. The case was recorded once the results of the child's medical examination confirmed that the assault had taken place.

An investigation took place over the next few days, at the end of which the suspect was arrested based on the findings of the medical report.

The case against the seminary teacher was registered under Section 377 (unnatural crimes) of the Criminal Code of Pakistan.

According to the boy's father, the police cooperated with the family "and received no bribe."

"We want to prevent this from happening to any other person," he said, urging the police to take steps to ensure exemplary punishment of the suspect.

Anser Butt, Station House Officer (SHO), from Haweli Koranga Police Station, while talking with DawnNewsTV He said the police are committed to doing justice to the family and that "those people deserve no mercy."

Khanewal District Police Officer (DPO), Umar Saeed Malik, confirmed the arrest and said the suspect "will receive due punishment for his crime" so that the alarmingly high number of such incidents can be reduced.
