Pakistan asks FATF to take notice of India’s attempts to politicise proceedings

ISLAMABAD – On Monday, Pakistan urged the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to pay attention to the ongoing malicious campaign against India and attempts to politicize FATF litigation.

In a Pakistan Foreign Ministry statement, Pakistan rejected a recent comment by Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh insisting that FATF could blacklist Pakistan.

The FO Declaration said, "This statement is about attempts to reinforce Pakistan's concerns over FATF member states and to strengthen the narrow and partisan goal of politicizing the FATF proceedings in India."

The press release said, "It is important for the FATF to keep the process fair and unbiased."

Pakistan rejects MEA in India

The FO description is one week ahead of FATF's review meeting in Paris from October 13-18, deciding whether Pakistan remains on the gray list or should be blacklisted.

The Pakistan Post called on FATF to note the attempt to politicize India's Pakistani process.
