US presidential candidate expresses concern over events in occupied Kashmir

Senator Elizabeth Warren, a Democratic presidential candidate for the 2020 US elections, expressed concern on Saturday about recent events in occupied Kashmir, including blocking communications.

in a Send shared on Twitter, the progressive senator said: "The partnership between the United States and India has always been based on our shared democratic values. I am concerned about recent developments in [India-occupied] Kashmir, including a continuous blackout of communications and other restrictions. "

"The rights of the people of Kashmir must be respected," he added on Twitter, along with an article about the situation in occupied Kashmir.

Since the Indian government revoked article 370 of its constitution on August 5 (stripping occupied Kashmir of its special status), a strict blockade and blackout of communications has silenced the region silently. Now it has been in place for 63 days.
