Dengue Response Unit confirms 3967 victims in KP

PESHAWAR – Dengue fever cases increased to 3967 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after 108 more cases were reported on Wednesday, reported by the local Dengue Response Department (DRP).

Peshawar, the provincial capital of Pakistan, governed by Tehreek-e-Insaf, has remained the most affected area to date, with incidents in 1970 until October 2, followed by 283 Swat.

In addition, 182 cases from Khyber, 174 from Shangla, 163 from Mansehra, 163 from Mantahra, 143 from Battagram, 142 from Mardan, 138 from Dir Lower, 119 from Haripur, 118 from Abbottabad, 102 in Swabi, 99 in Nowbiera, Kohat, 43 Bunner, 30 in Charsadda, 28 in DI Khan, 24 in Lakki Marwat, 9 in Bannu, 5 in Malakand, 2 in Karak and Dir, Mohmand, Kurram, Kohat and 1 each in Tank.

According to DRP statistics, 40 cases in Peshawar, 8 cases in Nosche Serra, 11 cases in Swat, 3 cases in Varner, 2 cases in Bahaur, 11 cases in Mardan, 8 cases in Swabi, 9 cases in Haripur , 4 cases in Mansera, 7 cases in Kohat, one each in the Lakki Marwat and DI Khan regions.

To date, 3759 patients were discharged after the necessary treatment, a total of 1970 dengue cases were reported in Peshawar, followed by 283 cases of Swat.

The report said Wednesday that 89 patients were hospitalized at several local hospitals during 45 discharges.

More than 3300 dengue cases reported throughout Punjab in 2019

With regard to Punjab, the victims have surpassed 3,377 cases since early this year, released last week by the State Department of Health in the report.

According to a report from the department, 2,608 out of a total of 3,377 patients were discharged from the hospital after treatment, while six dengue patients across the state were in the intensive care unit and the rest were at risk.
