Turkey and the US military conducted a seventh joint helicopter flight Saturday for a planned safe zone east of the Euphrates River in northern Syria.
According to the ground Ananalu Agency correspondent, Turkey and two helicopters took off from Sanliurfa in southeastern Turkey.
They flew to the Syrian border. After flying for an hour, the helicopter returned to the center.
The national army previously conducted six joint helicopter flights and two land patrols.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Defense, the joint patrol was carried out as part of an agreement that planned to build a safe zone in northern Syria.
On August 7, Turkey and US military officials agreed to develop a peace corridor to promote the movement of displaced protesters who wanted to establish a safe zone in northern Syria and return home. It also agreed to establish a joint operations center.
The agreement also envisioned the United States to establish necessary security measures to address Turkey's security issues against Turkey's opposition, including clearing up the territory of the sometimes allied terrorist YPG / PKK.
YPG is a Syrian derivative of the PKK terrorist group, which has resulted in about 40,000 deaths in Turkey, including many children, women and infants, for more than 30 years.
