UN Secretary General condemns drone attack on Saudi oil facilities

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres recently criticized the drone attack on oil facilities in eastern Saudi Arabia, a spokesman for Stefan Duzarik said in a statement Sunday.

The drone attack ignited a massive fire on Saturday's two oil installations in Saudi Aramco. In particular, the fire hit the Abqaiq refinery in the eastern provinces and the oil treatment plant near Khurais oil field about 100 miles east of Riyadh.

The Yemeni Houthi rebel movement claimed responsibility for the attack, while US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accused Iran of being behind them.

Tehran refuted the US claim.
