According to a press release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday, the Pakistan Army has made a series of transfers and publications in key seniority positions.

According to the military media wing, Lieutenant General Waseem Ashraf has been published as Commander of the Southern Command, Lieutenant General Azhar Abbas has been appointed Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Khalid Zia has been published as Inspector General of Arms, the Lieutenant General Muhammad Chiragh Haider. as Director General JSHQ, while Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar was appointed President of the Pakistan Artillery Factory (POF).

Yesterday, four main generals of the Pakistan army had been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general.

According to ISPR, those promoted were Major General Muhammad Aamer, Major General Muhammad Chiragh Haider, Major General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum and Major General Khalid Zia.

Ascended officers must assume their new positions after the retirement of three general lieutenants in the last week of the current month. Another vacancy will occur in the last week of November when the Chairman of the Joint Committee of Chiefs of the Personnel Committee (CJCSC), Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat, is removed from office.

The three 3-star generals who will retire this month include former ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa, who currently serves as commander of the Southern Command (Quetta), the President of the National Defense University (NDU), Lieutenant General Aamer Riaz and the president of the POF, Lieutenant General Sadiq Ali
