Local leaders of several opposition parties met in Islamabad on Tuesday for a conference of all parties in which it was unanimously decided that the opposition will not organize a sit-in on October 27.<\/p>\n
"As in other parts of the country, October 27 will be observed as Black and Solidarity Day of Kashmir," said Maulana Abdul Majeed Hazarvi of JUI-F.<\/p>\n
The opposition will hold a large rally outside the National Press Club, Hazarvi said.<\/p>\n
Most opposition parties, including the PML-N and the PPP, have decided to respond to the call of the head of JUI-F, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, to join and march against the government on October 31.<\/p>\n
Describing the party's plans for October 31, the JUI-F leader said that the participants of the & # 39; Marcha Azadi & # 39; they will be received in Islamabad that day and the city will witness a demonstration of strength by the opposition.<\/p>\n
He reiterated the party's demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Imran Khan and called for new elections in the country.<\/p>\n
PML-N leader Tariq Fazal Chaudhry also tried to clarify that there will be no sitting on October 27. "A peaceful march will be held to express solidarity with the oppressed cashmere."<\/p>\n
"Islamabad is our city and we are more aware than managing the difficulties faced by its residents," said Chaudhry.<\/p>\n
He warned the Islamabad administration to refrain from "ruining the atmosphere with arrests of participants."<\/p>\n
The leader of the PPP, Sibt-i-Hasan Bukhari, expressed similar feelings regarding the nature of the activities that will take place on October 27. "Our protest will be peaceful," he said. <\/p>\n
APC participants also expressed concern about the health of jailed party leaders such as Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Asif Ali Zardari.<\/p>\n
"We demand that the selected government grant visit rights to Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif," Bukhari said.<\/p>\n
When asked if the PPP will participate or not in a sit-down on October 31, Bukhari said the decision will be taken by the Rahbar Committee, a group of opposition leaders who have held joint consultations on the anti-government march.<\/p>\n
A committee session was held a day earlier at the residence of the JUI-F leader, Akram Durrani, in which the opposition parties had expressed their determination to hold a "peaceful march" on October 27 and for what they had stated that there would be "no commitment".<\/p>\n
The opposition had said that talks with the government would depend on the permission granted to hold the march on October 27.<\/p>\n
The opposition had previously refused to come to the table to talk with the government and had expressed a singular demand: the resignation of the prime minister. He had said that no talks can take place before the Prime Minister resigns.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Abdul Ghafoor Haider of JUI-F, in a conversation on the "News Wise" talk show, said the Rahbar Committee's demand to allow the "peaceful march" on October 27, had come "before the arrests of several member parties in Islamabad and other cities. "<\/p>\n
"In an environment in which the prime minister ridicules Maulana Fazlur Rehman sahib<\/em> and the way (defense minister) Pervez Khattak spoke, the offer to hold talks is meaningless.
