that new home sales in the Houston area rose 1.4 percent month-on-month, while the average price fell slightly to $ 353,588.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- text --><\/p>\n<p>According to the HomesUSA.com New Home Sales Index, the Houston area registered 1,456 new home sales in September. Home sales averaged 1,436 in August.
