{"id":7670,"date":"2019-10-10T20:47:06","date_gmt":"2019-10-10T15:47:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/umang.pk\/2019\/10\/strong-economy-to-create-livelihood-opportunities-top-priority-of-govt-pm-imran-pakistan\/"},"modified":"2019-10-10T20:47:06","modified_gmt":"2019-10-10T15:47:06","slug":"strong-economy-to-create-livelihood-opportunities-top-priority-of-govt-pm-imran-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/umang.pk\/ur\/2019\/10\/10\/strong-economy-to-create-livelihood-opportunities-top-priority-of-govt-pm-imran-pakistan\/","title":{"rendered":"Strong economy to create livelihood opportunities top priority of govt: PM Imran &#8211; Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/umang.pk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Strong-economy-to-create-livelihood-opportunities-top-priority-of-govt.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Prime Minister Imran Khan said Thursday that his government&#39;s top priority is to manage the economy on a solid basis to create livelihood opportunities, increase trust among foreign investors and allow local industries to prosper.<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister chaired a special meeting of his economic team at his Bani Gala residence in Islamabad to discuss economic reforms and strategies to revive the industrial sector.<\/p>\n<p>Federal ministers Makhdoom Khusro Bukhtar, Omar Ayub, Hammad Azhar and Mohammad Mian Soomro; advisors Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Abdul Razzak Dawood, Dr. Ishrat Hussain; special assistants Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan and Yousaf Baig Mirza; The president of the Federal Board of Revenue, Shabbar Zaidi, former finance minister, Shaukat Tareen; and other officials attended the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The participants of the meeting discussed several recommendations on the development of the sector of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the rehabilitation of sick industrial units and the provision of subsidies for the construction sector.  <\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, the prime minister was informed that measures could be taken immediately to restore 687 sick units. According to an information session given to the meeting, the rehabilitation of the selected units could be carried out with the help of a public-private partnership formula.  <\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Imran ordered the interested sectors to complete the administrative reforms and laws required within 60 days to rehabilitate the units in difficulty under a comprehensive plan.<\/p>\n<p>Participants were told that the SME sector faced several challenges, including lack of investment, sophisticated technology, skilled labor, laws, reforms in the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority and lack of research. . <\/p>\n<p>The prime minister ordered the officials to involve the private sector for the development of the SME sector. He also issued instructions for the ease of doing business in the country and prioritizing small local units. He asked the officials to present a comprehensive action plan for the development of the sector, with deadline objectives.  <\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Imran during the meeting announced that tax incentives will be offered to relevant industries to facilitate the construction sector.
