ISLAMABAD: A joint meeting of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society, Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors, Pakistan Broadcasters Association and Pakistan Federal of Journalists (Burna, Dastoor and Workers) has unanimously rejected the government's decision to establish special media courts.<\/p>\n
The heads of all media organizations attended the meeting in Islamabad. They expressed deep concern over the federal government's attempt to formally shape its proposal to curb the freedom of the media in the country, in addition to the increasing restrictions already imposed on the media.<\/p>\n
The joint meeting called on the government to immediately withdraw the "anti-media decision." He decided to take appropriate measures to protest and resist the movement. A permanent committee formed by the heads of these media organizations has been formed to take further action.<\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by high-level representatives of media organizations, including APNS President Hameed Haroon, CPNE President Arif Nizami, PBA President Shakeel Masood, Mubarak Zeb Khan of PFUJ (Burna), Nawaz Raza of PFUJ ( Dastoor), Pervez Shoukat of the PFUJ (Workers), CPNE Vice President Sardar Khan Niazi and Secretary General Dr. Jabbar Khattak, APNS Vice President Mumtaz A.
