Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday called for a solution through dialogue for the Kashmir dispute between Pakistan and India.<\/p>\n

In his speech at the session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Erdogan criticized the international community for not paying attention to the Kashmir conflict, which, he said, awaits a solution for 72 years.<\/p>\n

The president said that the stability and prosperity of South Asia cannot be separated from the Kashmir problem.<\/p>\n

"For the people of Kashmir to see a secure future together with their Pakistani and Indian neighbors, it is imperative to solve the problem through dialogue and on the basis of justice and equity, but not through the collision," Erdogan said. .<\/p>\n

"Despite the resolutions passed, [India-occupied] Kahsmir is still besieged and eight million people are trapped in Kashmir, "he said.<\/p>\n

"The invasions, conflicts and terrorist activities for almost four decades in Afghanistan have led to instability in the region," he said while talking about the region. <\/p>\n

The region occupied by India faces repression since August 5, when the Indian government rejected article 370 of the Indian constitution, which gave it a special status.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of people, mostly political leaders, have been arrested or arrested by the authorities since the Indian government made the move.<\/p>\n

India and Pakistan keep Kashmir in parts and claim it in its entirety. <\/p>\n

Following Erdogan's comments, Prime Minister Imran Khan thanked him for raising the issue of Kashmir occupied at the UNGA and for asking for a solution to the long dispute.<\/p>\n
