Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday rejected a petition to request directives for the government to celebrate the country's Independence Day on August 15, instead of August 14.<\/p>\n

Judge Mamoonur Rashid declared the petition, filed by a citizen named Hasnain, as not maintainable.<\/p>\n

The citizen had appointed the federal government, the Higher Education Commission and the Punjab Curriculum Board as respondents in the case. <\/p>\n

The petitioner had claimed that, in accordance with the Indian Independence Act of 1947, Pakistan entered into force on August 15. He also said that the federal government, the interior ministry and other parties were deceiving the nation.<\/p>\n
