Everyone wants a BMF belt (right?) Except for the BMF belt holder, Max Holloway<\/strong>. What does \u201cBlessed\u201d want? He wants the UFC lightweight title.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Only the UFC’s 155-pound crown will make that happen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI mean, the BMF title is cool, you know?\u201d he said Diana Velveeta<\/strong> In a new interview. "I love it. It takes care of me. It does its job. But a definite title is a definite title, you know?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI keep telling everyone I want to be that. [a double champion]\u201cI want to put my name in it because very few people can be a two-division champion,\u201d Holloway added. \u201cI know people say, \u2018Oh, but it\u2019s a BMF title!\u2019 That’s it. That’s cool, but I want a solid title. \u201cI want to put my name on the line with those legends,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Even though we’ve already lost Ilya Topuria<\/strong> At Featherweight (see highlights), Holloway hopes he can fight him at Lightweight. and win Charles Oliveira<\/strong> It’s a fight to get him back within striking distance of the Spanish superstar at UFC 326, which takes place this weekend (Saturday, March 7, 2026) in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cAs long as I\u2019m in title contention or have a title, I\u2019m going to stay in the UFC,\u201d Holloway said. "You know, I don’t want to fight over that hill that I’m fighting on. Now my name is always in title contention. And that’s what keeps me going.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

An easier path to lightweight gold would see Gaethje win his 155-pound title unification match against Topuria over the summer. However, Holloway would prefer to avenge the loss to Topuria.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not rooting for anyone. I hope the best person wins.\u201d Holloway spoke about the Topuria vs. Gaethje fight. "But if I had the choice, I would 100% want a rematch with Ilia. He did what he did, he’s the first person to do that to me, no one else could have done that, so I had to get that guy back. Me and Gaethje have history and I know Gaethje wants that back.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
