Ghatkopar's Badani family had been isolated long before the closure order was issued. So it was a shock when the patriarch Kaushik Badani<\/keyword>, 59, tested positive for Covid-19 on April 1. His wife and children also tested positive later.<\/p>\n

It all started with a slight fever during which his family doctor asked Kaushik to undergo a coronavirus<\/keyword> try as a precautionary measure. \u201cI had no travel history or contact with anyone who had traveled abroad, so the test result was shocking. At first, I was afraid for the well-being of my family, "he said. All three tested positive on April 4.\n<\/p>\n

While the rest of the family was sent home in four days after testing negative, Kaushik had to spend 19 days in hospital. When Kaushik finally returned home, the neighbors greeted him with great applause.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThe most moving thing these days was the amount of love and blessings we receive from friends and family around the world. When we returned home, we were greeted with a basket consisting of milk, fruit, disinfectants and other necessities, "he said. Rishit believes that the family is blessed to be surrounded by people who only sent good vibes on their way. \u201cYou feel especially lucky when you hear that people test positive and are discriminated against by their neighbors. With diagnosis, it happens so much on an emotional level that such behavior affects one's emotional well-being.<\/p>\n

People must realize that getting the infection is not under anyone's control, it can happen to anyone, "he said. Even at home, the family would maintain social distance, they would all stay in their own rooms, eat alone and not eat. phones would be touched, connecting electronically, the whole family would pray together.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI can't speak highly enough about the power of prayer that helped me remain optimistic during my hospital stay. I spent nineteen days in the hospital and tested positive seven times before I could test negative twice, "recalls Kaushik.\n<\/p>\n

He feels lucky that his condition was better than most of the others in the room. \u201cLater I learned that many of them had resorted to self-medication and arrived at the hospital much later. I would appeal to people to seek medical help soon after having symptoms, "Kaushik said.
