Sindh reported its first coronavirus case on February 26, according to data recently released by the provincial health department.<\/p>\n
The number of cases began to increase in early March, increasing steadily from mid-March and peaking as a cluster of Raiwind Ijtima related cases emerged in Hyderabad and Karachi. <\/p>\n
The report (from the data compiled until April 12) was prepared by the Provincial and Regional Surveillance and Disease Response Units working under the General Directorate of Health Services, Sindh.<\/p>\n
Contrary to perceptions that the new coronavirus primarily attacks old ones, the report released by the Sindh Directorate-General for Health Services showed that the majority of those affected by the virus belong to the 20-39 age group. <\/p>\n Death tolls and infection from the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic indicate that men are more likely than women to contract the disease and suffer serious or critical complications if they do, according to a Reuters<\/em> report. "<\/p>\n The men have become carriers of Covid-19, taking it back home with their families, he added.<\/p>\n According to the report, the cities of Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Saddar and northern Nazimabad have so far reported the highest number of Covid-19 cases in Karachi, which together with Sukkur make up the majority of coronavirus cases in Sindh.<\/p>\n On Sunday, rangers and police in Karachi blocked several highways at 11 union committees (UCs) in the city's eastern district by erecting temporary barriers and parking heavy vehicles as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the coronavirus. <\/p>\n Meanwhile, the prime minister said Thursday that the blockade, which will end on April 14, will not be lifted immediately, but will be phased out.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n .
