He was speaking at the opening ceremony of a mobile application, a call center, a complete video link facility in five Supreme Court rooms, a research center and an improved website to facilitate litigants and lawyers.

He said that permission to go abroad was granted to Nawaz by the prime minister and that the Lahore High Court (LHC) had only established the modalities.

While speaking at a ceremony in Havelian on Monday, Prime Minister Imran had asked the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Khosa, and the puisne judge of the Supreme Court judge, Gulzar Ahmed, to present themselves and restore public confidence in the judicial power.

In his speech, the prime minister also said that rapid and rapid justice for all would lay the foundations of the country's new system based on the principles of "Riasat-i-Madina." He said that a disparity was perceived in the way in which powerful and common people were treated in the judicial system of the country. He said he was ready to support the judiciary to change the perception and restore public confidence in the institutions.

"Any social segment that criticizes our judges should be a bit cautious because they (the judges) are working hard day and night," said the president of the court, Khosa. "Encourage them instead of criticizing them."

He said that the only powerful element in the eyes of the judiciary is the law and not just any individual. "I don't want to comment on the particular case that the respected prime minister was referring to, but he would know that he himself gave permission for someone to go abroad. The debate in the higher court was about the modalities," said the superior judge. he said, referring to the single permission granted to Nawaz to travel abroad.

"A silent revolution has arrived in our judiciary," Judge Khosa said, although he acknowledged that no institution is "perfect."

He added: "Don't compare us with the judiciary that existed before 2009; the judiciary after that year is different, independent. For us, nobody is big, small or powerful.

"Do you not remember that we condemn a prime minister (Nawaz Sharif) and disqualify another prime minister (Yousuf Raza Gilani)?" The president of the court, Khosa, said, and while raising the two fists in a similar way as former retired President General Pervez Musharraf did on May 12, 2007, he added: "The case about an army chief of staff is will decide soon. "

The president of the court welcomed the announcement of Prime Minister Imran that he would divert resources from other departments to the judiciary to improve its functioning. He said that the judiciary now felt a shortage of resources and that the prime minister's announcement is "very timely."

He stressed that a total of 3,100 judges and magistrates had decided 3.6 million cases last year. And with the exception of one or two, all litigants who received help from the judiciary belonged to the weak and oppressed classes, he added.

Judge Khosa said that if a certain individual receives a lot of projection in the media, it should not be understood that it means that the 3.6 million other people whose cases were decided by the judiciary must be forgotten.

"To say that there is some imbalance [in how the powerful and the weak are treated by the judiciary] … should be reconsidered, "he emphasized.

He said that using his current remedies, the judiciary has put an end to the 25-year delay in criminal appeals in the Supreme Court, while, thanks to the model courts, there is no pending murder trial in 17 districts of the country.

"[The judges] They are burning their midnight oil without additional costs. We don't ask the government for a penny. […] We do not ask Parliament for any amendment to the laws or additional budget allocation. "

LHC order

After many deliberations and meetings, the government agreed to allow Nawaz to travel abroad, on the condition that compensation bonds are awarded in the amount of Rs7-7.5 billion. The PML-N had rejected the condition and brought the matter to the LHC, which, in a coup to the Center, ordered the federal government to remove its name from the ECL without any conditions. The verdict was issued after Nawaz signed an agreement approved by the court, saying he would return to the country within four weeks.

The president of PML-N, Shehbaz Sharif, also signed a commitment, which he said would "guarantee the return" of his brother "within four weeks or with the certification of doctors that he has recovered his health and is in a position to return to Pakistan. " Nawaz was allowed to leave the country for a period of four weeks, extendable based on medical reports.

The government had praised the provisional order of the LHC and decided not to file an appeal against it, and the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Responsibility, Shahzad Akbar, said: "We believe that the LHC has reinforced our position and not only Shehbaz Sharif but also to Nawaz Sharif strong commitments. "

Nawaz, who was diagnosed with an immune system disorder, was recommended by doctors to go abroad as his condition continued to deteriorate despite treatment. He was rushed to the Services hospital from the Kot Lakhpat prison, where he was serving a prison sentence issued by an accountability court that found him guilty of corruption in the case of Al Azizia Steel Mills, after his doctor staff gave the alarm about the former prime minister. health deterioration

Nawaz was released on bail from the Islamabad High Court for humanitarian reasons in the case of Al Azizia earlier this month. He also obtained a bond in the case of Chaudhry Sugar Mills, in which he is a suspect, of the LHC.

Source: https://www.dawn.com/news/1517852/government-itself-allowed-nawaz-to-travel-abroad-cjp-khosa-says

Pakistani Supreme Court President Asif Saeed Khosa responded on Wednesday to recent comments by Prime Minister Imran Khan about the judiciary, saying it was the government that allowed former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to travel abroad to receive medical treatment . "Do not make fun of us with respect to the powerful," said the president […]

[11828

post-13389","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pakistan
["GET
