While the country celebrated Eid Miladun Nabi on Sunday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) marked the end of a story of inhumanity, oppression, tyranny, ignorance, injustice and deviation from the right path. Pakistan Radio<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n

In his message on the occasion, the prime minister added that the birth of the Prophet Muhammad "purified civilization instilling characteristics such as human dignity and forgiveness."<\/p>\n

He added that the idea of \u200b\u200ba welfare state was first introduced by Islam. <\/p>\n

In his message, President Dr. Arif Alvi said the government is trying to develop Pakistan as a welfare state based on the principles of the state of Madina, Pakistan Radio<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n

The president urged citizens, particularly religious academics, to play their part in making Pakistan a welfare state, adding that the government is carrying out economic and social reforms in several sectors that could bring positive results "very soon" .<\/p>\n
