Six soldiers and five civilians were injured during an exchange of gunfire at the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan between security forces on both sides, a statement from the military media wing said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
According to Public Relations between Services (ISPR), Afghan security forces fired mortars and heavy machine guns from the Nari district in the province of Kunar "attacking the civilian population" in the town of Aritdu de Chitral.<\/p>\n
"Pakistan's troops responded effectively and attacked the Afghan border posts Kandi and Dilbar from where the fire started," the statement said.<\/p>\n
As a result, "substantial damage" was suffered at Afghan border posts. The exchange of shots stopped "after the confrontation at the military level."<\/p>\n
At the end of September, a commander and a cowboy from the Pakistan army were martyred in an explosion of an improvised explosive device (FDI) near the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan in the Mohmand tribal district.<\/p>\n
Earlier that month, four Army soldiers were martyred and another was injured in two separate incidents of militant shooting near the Afghan border.<\/p>\n
After the attacks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Afghan Affairs Officer to file a formal protest against the incidents.<\/p>\n
Pakistan has already surrounded a portion of more than 900 kilometers of the Afghan border in an attempt to prevent the movement of criminals and terrorists between the two countries.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/pre>\n<\/pre>\n
