The opposition decided on Monday that the option of dialogue with the government could be open if the Pakistan-led government Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) allows Jamiat Ulma-i-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) to take an Azadi March 27 October.<\/p>\n
The opposition presented the condition to the government after a meeting of its Rahbar Committee at the residence of Akram Durrani in Islamabad.<\/p>\n
After the meeting, Durrani said at a press conference that the opposition's demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Imran Khan is still intact, but the joint opposition was open for a meeting with the government committee. However, he stated that for the dialogue, the government would have to ensure that a peaceful march of Azadi was carried out. <\/p>\n
He claimed that the government committee was not serious in the dialogue. The prime minister's statements also show a lack of seriousness, he added. <\/p>\n
Durrani made it clear that there would be no commitment in the Azadi march scheduled for October 27. He also assured the government that the march will remain peaceful.<\/p>\n
"The condition presented by the Conference of all parties is our conditions," he said, adding that the dialogue will not take place in the absence of a single member of the Rahbar Committee.<\/p>\n
Durrani asked the government not to approach opposition parties separately. <\/p>\n
Representatives of nine opposition parties, including the PPP, the PML-N and the Awami National Party and others, participated in the meeting.<\/p>\n
The opposition announced the decision hours after the federal cabinet approved a summary seeking the ban on the "militant wing" of the JUI-F.<\/p>\n
According to the sources of the cabinet secretariat, the summary presented by the interior ministry was approved by circulation only one day before a cabinet meeting. The government took the measure to avoid a discussion on the matter in the cabinet, the sources added.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/pre>\n<\/pre>\n
