{"id":9280,"date":"2019-10-20T06:58:59","date_gmt":"2019-10-20T01:58:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/umang.pk\/2019\/10\/india-building-worlds-biggest-face-recognition-system-newspaper\/"},"modified":"2019-10-20T06:58:59","modified_gmt":"2019-10-20T01:58:59","slug":"india-building-worlds-biggest-face-recognition-system-newspaper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/umang.pk\/en_us\/2019\/10\/20\/india-building-worlds-biggest-face-recognition-system-newspaper\/","title":{"rendered":"India building world\u2019s biggest face recognition system &#8211; Newspaper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/umang.pk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/India-building-world\u2019s-biggest-face-recognition-system-Newspaper.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>WASHINGTON: India is trying to build the world&#39;s largest facial recognition system to immediately detect a suspect, says an official announcement published in international media.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed database, the Automated Facial Recognition System, aims to &quot;modernize &#8230; the collection of information, criminal identification, verification and dissemination&quot; throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p>India has asked IT companies around the world to submit their proposals to the National Crime Record Bureau in New Delhi.<\/p>\n<p>India hopes that the project will allow law enforcement agencies in its 29 states and seven union territories to access a single centralized database.<\/p>\n<p>A detailed 172-page document published by the office says the system would compare images of the growing network of CCTV cameras in India with a database of photographs of criminals, passport photos and images collected by various government agencies.<\/p>\n<p>The document says that the new facial recognition platform &quot;can play a vital role in improving results&quot; when it comes to identifying criminals, missing persons and bodies.
