      Montrose was in the top 20 when commercial real estate company Cushman & Wakefield found the \u201cbest\u201d areas across the United States and Canada. Cushman & Wakefield says this is a major asset.<\/p>\n

      <\/p>\n

      For the Houstoners, the announcement may feel obvious. Isn't it news that Montrose is cool? Bob Marley and Wailers acquired the floor of the Plaza Hotel (later Tradition Bank Plaza) in the 70's and cooked Rasta gumbo with the Texas Monthly magazine starting in the same building. It was a Houston refuge and political center for the LGBTQ community. Beyonce went to high school there.<\/p>\n

      But in the case of Cushman & Wakefield, the local culture and treasure planet is particularly attractive, as retailers compete with e-commerce to take their customers to stores.<\/p>\n

      When Cushman & Wakefield began scouting a cool neighborhood for the first time in 2016, \u201cDon't cool yourself.<\/p>\n

      It seems that commercial real estate developers have noticed. Cushman is changing at Montrose, which is defined as extending north of the United States 59 to Washington Avenue between Shepard Drive and Bagby Street. In 2018, Houston approved 28 building permits for buildings on West Heimer Road, twice as much as in 2017.<\/p>\n

      New shopping centers, luxury boutiques and some of the city's most popular restaurants extend Westheimer between Bagby and Shepherd. Heights Mercantile's developers set sight in the neighborhood with plans to relocate Montrose's existing library into a complex building complex with trendy shops, restaurants and office spaces.<\/p>\n

      According to the Cushman & Wakefield report, Westwester is currently considered one of the best restaurant hotspots in Houston. Young professionals looking for an experience-driven neighborhood and walkable lifestyle \u201d<\/p>\n
