Nintendo Switch Lite is a smaller, more stylish, and more portable version of the original console, but can you connect it to your TV? My answer is no Many users can take this as an opportunity to come up with some sort of original workaround, but it remains a reality. The reasons for this are as follows:<\/p>\n

Why can't I play Nintendo Switch Lite on my TV<\/h2>\n

When you first look at the Nintendo Switch Lite, you'll see that it's actually at the bottom with the same USB-C port as the original Nintendo Switch. USB-C is used in the dock of the original system because it can transmit power and video signals simultaneously. Switch Lite supports this same type of connection to maintain compatibility with chargers already available on store shelves.<\/p>\n

But no luck when connected to a TV. As YouTube creator Kevin Kenson showed in the explainer video, trying to connect Switch Lite to a TV in the same way as connecting a standard switch has no signal at all.<\/p>\n

Can I dock Nintendo Switch Lite?<\/h2>\n

Switch Lite is not designed to fit inside a standard dock. Since there is no removable controller, the analog sticks on both sides of the console are disturbed. You need a fix or a third party version to charge Switch Lite using the dock.<\/p>\n

With USB-C, the system can also connect to a hub with multiple ports. This allows you to play Switch Lite using a wired Pro controller that can reduce latency during gaming. Or you can use the dock as a play stand and pair it with Joy-Con. This allows you to play games that require tabletop mode.<\/p>\n

Can I transfer game data from Switch Lite to Switch?<\/h2>\n

You can't play Nintendo Switch Lite on your television, but you can transfer data even if you have a standard Nintendo Switch. You just need to have an internet connection and subscribe to Nintendo's paid membership service. This you can freely switch<\/em> Continue playing through the TV.<\/p>\n

Sign up for the Nintendo Switch Online service and play games on Switch Lite as usual. Before playing back through a standard docked Nintendo Switch, make sure that Auto Backup is enabled to keep your game save data up to date. In some games, including: Pokemon: Let's go<\/em> and Dark Soul Remaster<\/em>But other major switch games support cloud storage.<\/p>\n

Make sure you are signed in with the same Nintendo account on the docked Nintendo Switch, and install that game and you should be in progress. When you return to Switch Lite, all the progress you've done on the standard Switch is also back.<\/p>\n
