Whatever the reason, you need to know how to make a screenshot. There are several ways in Windows. At first it will guide you in the easiest way, and at the end, give you another way.

Additional Resources

Step 1: capture the image

Call up what you want to capture on the screen Print screen (Often abbreviated to “PrtScn”) key. You may need to press if you are using a laptop Fn + Print screen Or that Windows key + Print screen If your laptop has a different function assigned to that specific key.

On many computers, the screen flickers or darkens to indicate that a screenshot has been taken. However, there are cases where there are no obvious signs that the screenshot worked, so you should check your storage capacity. If you are not using the Fn key, make sure the key is on or off. On some laptops, if the Fn key is on, the screenshot process won't work properly because Windows registers three keys instead of two: Caps Lock, etc.).

OneDrive from Microsoft typically saves your screen automatically in your OneDrive folder. You can now find it below the screenshot in the picture (you may see a screenshot folder at first). You can go here to open the file and rename it if you want. If you have Dropbox installed, screenshots can also be automatically saved to the Dropbox directory under screenshots (ideal for “showcase”).

Step 2: open the paint

Check out the screenshots in the Screenshots folder. That way is fine, if you like it! You can save it, move it, attach it to an email, and then upload it whenever you need it. However, for many screenshots you may want to crop or change it in any way. There are many programs that can do this, but the closest is Microsoft Paint, which is used for a long time.

While running the latest version of Windows 10, type "Paint" in the Windows search bar and click on that result.

Step 3: paste the screenshot

When paint opens pool Press the button in the upper left of the program or Ctrl + V Paste the screenshot from the keyboard. Click gray Save When done, click the button in the bottom right corner.

And that's it! it is done.

Alternative: Sniper Tool

The best alternative is the Windows 10 Snipping Tool. Windows' built-in screen capture utility works well enough, but it's not the most powerful or versatile when saving snapshots of your screen. However, the sniffing tool is a utility that allows users to better define and capture portions of their desktop display as screenshots without the need for a keyboard.

To get started, type: Sniffing tools Select it by typing in the Windows 10 search bar. From there, you have options like drawing. Freestyle, a Windows Snip, or Rectangular snip. If you want to capture the exact moment in your video or animation, you can also set it to have a certain time delay. Then swipe in the same mode repeatedly Alt and yen Height.

The sniffing tool continues to provide new features. For example, you can now use the image editing feature to create a Snip & Sketch application. Every time you take a screenshot, it's automatically displayed as a thumbnail, like MacOS Mojave, so you can import it straight into the Snip and Sketch app for easy editing.

You also Windows key + Shift + S You can activate it without opening the Sketch and Snip application. As with MacOS, the screen goes dark, you can choose where you want to snip, and then save the image to the clipboard to transfer it to Paint or another application.

If you want more options for selecting and customizing screenshots and you don't have to download a new app, we recommend trying LightShot. Lightshot is a better option for screenshots that require more professional work or important editing.

 Editors' Picks

You might need a work screenshot, send it with technical support, or just want to capture some great moments on your PC.
