ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan-Nawaz Muslim League (PML-N) has questioned the prolonged detention of its senior members by the National Responsibility Office (NAB) during the period of investigation against him for various charges and qualified him as part of the political victimization policy of the government. . <\/p>\n
In a statement here on Saturday, the PML-N secretary of information, Marriyum Aurangzeb, stated that all of these people had been in custody for months even though NAB had not filed any charges of misappropriation of the national treasury against them. <\/p>\n
He also issued a list of nearly a dozen people who had been arrested since Pakistan's Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government took office in August last year with the period they had already spent behind bars. <\/p>\n
\nMarriyum Aurangzeb says they are being tried without any evidence of corruption.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
The list includes the names of Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, former railroad minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and her brother Salman Rafique, former finance minister Miftah Ismail, opposition leader in the Assembly of Punjab Hamza Shahbaz, former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, MNA of Faisalabad Rana Sanaullah and former Minister Kamran Michael. <\/p>\n
She claimed that all these party leaders were being tried without any evidence of corruption. "None of them have been accused of corruption in public money," he said. <\/p>\n

Ms. Aurangzeb said Khawaja Salman Rafique, who freed Punjab from dangerous dengue and transformed medical care in the province, had been thrown behind bars for more than a year by private businesses. <\/p>\n
Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan, he said, was forced to jail on charges of abuse of power, while there was not a single charge of corruption against him and he had already spent more than 90 days in prison. <\/p>\n
He affirmed that MNA of Faisalabad Rana Sanaullah was arrested in the "most obvious and ridiculous act of political victimization." <\/p>\n
"Even after not presenting any evidence against Sanaullah, he is held prisoner for more than 100 days," he said. <\/p>\n
"Miftah Ismail has been jailed without even an established accusation," he continued. <\/p>\n
Ms. Aurangzeb said that Yousaf Abbas's biggest sin was that he was related to Nawaz Sharif and, despite having no public office, "he is also a victim of this revenge and prejudices fueled political victimization." <\/p>\n
He said Fawad Hassan Fawad and Ahad Cheema, the two bureaucrats, were questioned only because they refused to become false approvers against Shahbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif. He said Imranul Haq faced the situation, who had rejected the same option against Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. <\/p>\n
He also criticized the tactics of denying food, bedding and legal rights to incarcerated Democrats and said that the frustration and despair of the failures of the "fascist and autocratic PTI" had driven them crazy. <\/p>\n
"Such tactics cannot and will not break the spirits of PML-N leaders or silence the opposition to expose the disastrous PTI rule," he said. <\/p>\n
Ms. Aurangzeb said that all these "Nawaz Sharif companions" were suffering behind bars without even an adequate accusation of corruption in the treasury. <\/p>\n
"All these people are being punished only for their tireless support for Nawaz Sharif and their tireless service to the people of Pakistan," he said, adding: "Today all these dedicated public servants are prisoners of their principles." <\/p>\n
The PML-N leader said that despite being the custodian of the country's treasury three times as prime minister, Nawaz Sharif had not been convicted of a single penny of corruption in public money, but had been languishing in jail for a whole year<\/p>\n
