PPP President Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari accused Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday of "undermining parliament," saying the opposition had no choice but to go outside.<\/p>\n
"If the parliament is not operated, democratic forces will be forced to go outside," he said in a conversation with journalists in Islamabad. <\/p>\n
Bilawal, who spoke after an accountability court extended the judicial detention of his father Asif Ali Zardari, said the former president had remained in jail in the past for 11 years without a conviction, but that "he had never compromised his principles".<\/p>\n
"No matter how many of our party leaders arrest, we will not compromise the 1973 Constitution or the 18th Amendment," said Bilawal. The legislator said that the "Tadeeli Sarkar"<\/em> (exchange rate) had failed.<\/p>\n "Imran Khan promised justice, but arrested his political opponents, as well as the women of their families, without any conviction or trial," he said, adding that the incumbent government had ruined the economy and increased unemployment.<\/p>\n Bilawal said the business community was so "fed up" with the government that they went to the army chief. If Khan Sahib starts directing them to elections, the economy and foreign policy, when will they protect our borders, what is their main job? " <\/p>\n Bilawal was referring to an event that had been held yesterday at the Army Auditorium in Rawalpindi. The media reported that several businessmen had met with the army chief at a dinner organized by the latter. Attendees then said Dawn<\/em> that the meeting had focused on areas where an economic renaissance could occur, as well as on building trust between the government and the business community<\/p>\n When asked if his party would join the long march of Chief Fazlur Rehman of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F), Bilawal remained without compromise and said the PPP called a meeting to discuss "to what extent they can help" . <\/p>\n Rehman had announced yesterday that, as part of his campaign to overthrow the acting government, a long march will begin on October 27 that will culminate in Islamabad. <\/p>\n "We and the PML-N hope that a joint protest or protest could be held, [but] Maulana Sahib has announced this march himself. "<\/p>\n The PPP had expressed its reluctance to participate in the anti-government movement due to the inclusion of the issues of blasphemy and Namoos-i-Risalat laws in its agenda.
